Membership Tiers & Insurance Qualification
Our goal is to make elite care accessible. Your membership fee is determined by the type of insurance plan you hold:
1. Qualified Employer-Funded Plans
Membership Fee: $0
If your health insurance is Self-Funded/Employer-Funded (administered by a major carrier but paid for by a large organization or corporation), you may qualify for a fully waived concierge fee.
- How it works: These high-tier plans allow us to bill for the comprehensive time and resources we provide, covering your membership benefits in full.
2. Standard & Fully-Insured Plans
Membership Fee: $5,000 (Annual/Boutique Flat Fee)
If your insurance is a standard commercial plan (funded directly by the insurance carrier) or if you are a self-pay patient, the Cove Concierge Fee is a flat $5,000.
Why this fee exists: This ensures that despite insurance company limitations, you still receive the “Cove Standard”—unhurried visits, constant access, and holistic support.
What’s Included in Your Concierge Membership?
The Cove Membership is designed to support the “whole woman” through pregnancy, birth, and the fourth trimester.
- Priority Midwife Access: Direct communication channels for questions and support between scheduled visits.
- Extended OB & Midwifery Visits: 30-60 minute appointments (double the industry average) to ensure every question is answered.
- Curated Educational Classes: Complimentary access to our suite of birth preparation, breastfeeding, and newborn care classes.
- Integrative Specialist Network: Direct referrals and coordinated care with our specialists, including:
- Nutritional Consultants for gestational wellness.
- Mental Health Specialists specializing in perinatal and postpartum support.
- Group Wellness Visits: Exclusive access to “Cove Circles”—group visits and workshops where you can connect with other mothers in the South Bay community.
- Boutique Amenities: Priority scheduling and care within our serene, first-floor Manhattan Beach sanctuary.

What does the $5,000 fee cover exactly?
The fee covers the non-clinical “concierge” aspects of your care that insurance typically does not pay for: 24/7 access, extended appointment times, educational curriculum, and the coordination of our wellness specialists.
Can I use my HSA/FSA for the membership fee?
In many cases, yes. Concierge fees are often an eligible expense for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). We recommend checking with your specific plan administrator.
What if I don’t want the concierge services?
To maintain the safety and intimacy of our “Cove” model, we only accept a limited number of patients per year. All patients at Cove Midwifery and Women's Health are enrolled in the membership to ensure they have the full support of our integrated team.
